Lauren Ross

Lauren is a partner at Herring & Panzer, L.L.P. Lauren’s practice focuses on legal ethics and professional responsibility matters and complex commercial litigation. Lauren frequently advises lawyers, law firms, law students, and in-house counsel on issues related to professional responsibility and legal ethics, along with risk management, including legal malpractice, law firm management and employment issues, fee disputes, conflicts and disqualification issues, confidentiality, privilege, attorney disciplinary defense, and character and fitness proceedings. Lauren also advises both law firms and lawyers on ethical and fiduciary issues related to lateral hiring, law firm dissolution and merger matters.

In her commercial litigation practice, Lauren represents a wide variety of clients in litigation and other disputes, including large companies, small businesses, municipalities and state agencies, and individuals. She has extensive experience in resolving disputes between businesses and represents clients in both state and federal courts and administrative hearings in a wide variety of matters, including actions for breach of contract, tort claims, breach of warranty, fraud, deceptive trade practices, tortious interference, election law, and all aspects of real estate litigation.

Before coming to Herring & Panzer LLP, Lauren previously worked at Latham & Watkins LLP, where she was a member of the firm’s Environment, Land, & Resources Department. Lauren’s practice at Latham focused on litigation involving environmental law, municipal law, and land use entitlements, and she represented clients in the construction industry, energy industry, and public sector.

Lauren graduated from the University of Texas Law School with honors in 2007. She received her B.B.A. in Marketing and International Business from the University of Texas in 2004. Lauren is licensed to practice in the United States District Courts for the Western District of Texas, and the Southern and Central Districts of California. She is a member of both the State Bar of Texas and the State Bar of California. In 2016, Texas Super Lawyers recognized Lauren as a Rising Star in the area of Administrative Law, and Austin Monthly has named Lauren as a Top Attorney from 2021 to 2023.
